Meet Your Strategic Operations Specialist…
Katherine Bartter
Katherine turns obstacles into wings of gold, restoring balance to work and life.
During her years as a People & Culture Leader in the AEC industry, she witnessed the widespread consequences of political, climate, and economic crises—where people and systems broke down not only from overwork but also from poor planning, polluted market information, hollow wellness initiatives, and disconnected processes and relationships.
In response, she created Seraphim to extend her impact across diverse people and industries, embedding joy, breath, and life back into work and supply chains. She understands both the obstacles and the pathways to meaningful, sustainable change.
“Sure of its useful power, the blacksmith’s strength is joyful. It is after all a form of working respiration which both activates fire and brings life to what it burns.”
— Gaston Bachelard, Earth and the Reveries of Will
She provides services based on a yogic wellness and adaptive management model that combines agile systems design, scientific research, and creative processes to create interconnected, holistic solutions that feel light as a feather and strong as an ox.
When we can find union in feeling and thinking in a way that nourishes the spirit, organizes the mind, and prioritizes health, wellness, and community, there is no limit to what we can do.
How she helps.
When we experience destabilization, well-regulated systems can bring us back to center.
Katherine empowers you and your business to adapt to anything through a holistic approach that combines:
Systems Design & Strategic Planning
Program Implementation & Project Management
Relationship-Building & Conflict Resolution
Storytelling & Narrative Communication
Yoga Teaching
“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”
— Joel A. Barker, The Business of Discovering the Future
Systems Design & Strategic Planning
Systems aren’t static. They move in rhythms.
Katherine turns dreams into structured but flexible systems using living strategies that account for internal and external dynamics, timelines, and the adaptive nature of every system, whether it’s a business, a community, or an individual.
Through deep research and analysis, she uncovers how systems function in the present, identifies weak points, and designs customized processes, materials, and pathways that strengthen and balance their structures. By grounding ideal visions in operational reality, she helps distinct functions align and work cohesively. Her expertise lies in organizational design, business development, and project management.
Program Implementation & Project Management
Strategy provides direction and alignment, but it can only take us so far.
When it’s time for action, success depends on clear operational plans supported by consistent management of timelines, scopes, budgets, and people. Without a defined program structure—or when management is treated as an afterthought—goals stall, and people bear the weight.
Effective management requires skill and training to navigate competing priorities and interconnected relationships. Katherine integrates principles of adaptive ecological management, self-management, and agile project management to design dynamic structures with flexible processes that support progress while accommodating iteration, uncertainty, and complexity. She not only manages projects and people with clarity and precision, but also trains others to do the same—building systems that evolve intelligently with new information and changing conditions.
“Systems run the business, but people run the systems.”
— Michael Gerber, author of E-Myth Mastery
Relationship-Building & Conflict Resolution
People are the driving force behind every project.
Katherine’s approach to strategic operations is rooted in people. People are the source of ideas, labor, and innovation, and people thrive in environments with meaningful connection and strong relationships.
Instead of avoiding tension or difference, Katherine guides others in using healthy communication techniques to foster collaboration, deepen understanding, and strengthen communal bonds. She emphasizes that productive dialogue takes time, patience, and honesty—paired with personal ownership and responsibility. Authentic and grounded, her methods draw from proven models of healthy conflict resolution informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, intersectional frameworks, and the yogic principle of ahimsa, or non-harm.
With a steady commitment to do no harm and seek reconciliation, Katherine acts as a neutral facilitator who builds mutual trust, clarifies perspectives, and helps groups find a shared way forward.
Storytelling & Narrative Communication
Storytelling is our most universal language.
In any system—whether organizational, social, or ecological—messages can easily become lost in translation. Yet communication doesn’t have to fracture. With the right language, medium, and intention, clarity and connection can be restored. Storytelling is the thread that unites data, ideas, and emotion across fields and disciplines. Whether in words or visuals, story is the bridge between knowledge and understanding.
Through her experience with storytelling across multiple formats, Katherine develops collaborative, multi-audience communication materials that make complex ideas accessible and resonant. Her work balances simplicity and elegance, weaving together text, imagery, and multimedia elements to engage both intellect and spirit. Every piece she creates aims to communicate objective truth with heart—clear, grounded, and deeply human.
“I will tell you something about stories. They aren’t just entertainment. Don’t be fooled. They are all we have.”
— Leslie Marmon Silko, author of Ceremony

Yoga Teacher
Balanced systems start from within.
Katherine has studied across diverse studios and ashrams, receiving her teacher training from James Island Yoga and Holy Cow Yoga Center. She continues to deepen her education in traditional medicine, anatomy, breathwork, and martial arts—disciplines that inform her grounded and holistic approach to teaching. Her specialty lies in applied yoga in action: translating the tools and principles of yoga beyond the mat and into daily life, relationships, and work.
Her teachings are rooted in foundational principles: Ahimsa—the practice of choosing the least harm in every decision; Sthira and Sukha—the balance between strength and ease; and Deep Listening—the art of perceiving both self and environment with awareness and humility. She emphasizes adaptability, cultivated through curiosity and steady practice in times of ease, so that embodied wisdom can respond swiftly and skillfully under pressure or scarcity. Central to her method is the cultivation of Witness Consciousness—a calm, observing mind that acts with clarity rather than reaction.
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say,
and what you do are in harmony.”
— Mahatma Gandhi, Leader of India’s Movement Towards Independence
